Library Card Fees
To receive a library card at no additional charge, you must reside or own property in one of the following areas: the towns of Amboy, Converse, or Sweetser, and/or Jackson (Miami County), Harrison (Miami County), or Richland (Grant County) Township. These areas support the library with tax dollars or have a contract with the library.
Non-Resident cards are available for $65.00 per year for any person not in the library’s district. A non-resident card is valid for one calendar year and needs to be renewed annually. The cost of a non-resident card may change if necessary.
PLAC cards may be purchased for $65.00 per year to use at any Indiana library. This card must first be purchased at your ‘home’ library; if you are in an unserved district, you will need to pay for a Non-Resident card before receiving a PLAC card. PLAC cards are valid for one calendar year and need to be renewed annually.
A “limited” student card is available to any Oak Hill Student. This card allows the student to check out books at their reading level. (Only persons 18 years old may sign-up for a library card so all students will need to be accompanied by their parent/guardian)
In an effort to maintain accurate and up-to-date information, all patron accounts will be valid for a one year period, provided that the patron continues to reside in the library district. All patrons need to have their account information verified annually. Expired accounts will be deleted after 3 years of inactivity.
Patrons whose account have been deleted to inactivity that have unpaid fines will have a record kept of their account and the unpaid fines. These patrons will NOT be able to open a new account until the old account fines are paid in full.
Each account is valid for one and only one household/family. This means that only the persons residing at the physical address of the account will be able to use the account. Family members who do not reside in the house will need to obtain their own account.

Fines
This Library is a late-fee free Library.
If you have items overdue, there will not be a fine per day. However, you will be unable to check out any new items with overdue items on your account.
In the case of lost items or items damaged beyond repair, the patron can be charged up to and including the price of a replacement item.
The person who is listed on the account is responsible for any and all fines accrued (e.g., if you are listed on the account and lend a book to someone who loses the book, you will still be required to pay the fine).
Fines can be reduced and/or waived by the director. This will only be done in extreme situations with extenuating circumstances and is NOT guaranteed. All requests will be handled on a case-by-case manner.
